Up to 2012, Offaly camogie had championships at U10 and U12. Both were 15 a side competitions. Those competitions were replaced with Go Games, small sided blitz games, with an emphasis on more touches of the ball per player.
In 2016, stand-alone U8 blitzes were introduced and have proved hugely successful.
In 2017, Leinster Camogie issued a recommendation that all club players should be playing a minimum of 12 games per year. The odd age groups served to bridge the gap for Offaly, where players were playing between 6 to 8 fixtures per year. Odd ages has doubles the number of games available per child. To facilitate the extra games, the calendar for even ages moved from June to April, with odd ages starting in July.
